Evans Easyspace is the UK's leading provider of new, quality small-business units specifically catering for the SME market. Their nationwide portfolio encompasses over 45 separate multi-tenanted sites which include a range of commercial and semi-industrial property types. Following a competitive tender exercise FMS won an exclusive contract to centralise and manage all the hard FM services of their property portfolio.

Working in conjunction with the Evans Easyspace in-house team, we reviewed their supply chain, identifying and correcting areas of weakness in regional locations and certain trade disciplines, and building on the strengths of their existing supplier base including the implementation of competency checks to ensure CDM compliance where necessary. Following review and rationalisation, we formalised individual service-level agreements incorporating standard rates and charges, response and competency criteria. This supply chain was then managed via the implementation of a central 24/7 outsourced help desk, managing all tenant and client hard FM issues.

By implementing a subsequent invoice audit and cost-management system for all works ordered and managed by the help desk, we were able to offer the client centralised and consolidated monthly invoicing and reporting. This resulted in ultimate cost certainty and in a huge reduction in head office administration time.

The implementation of the outsourced services has enabled the client’s team to concentrate on securing new tenancies and, in so doing, to climb to the top of their market sector.
